SUBJECT BRIEF

A real Shiba.
Vlad Tenev’s own dog.
Then the community found the name.

Kitsu is Vlad Tenev’s Shiba Inu. Robinhood’s CEO has been posting the same dog for years, across company throwbacks and personal posts, and community sleuthing finally read the name off the collar tag: KITSU.

The coin turns the founder’s dog into a market-native mascot on Robinhood Chain. Clean, green, and deliberately simple.

PUBLIC RECEIPTS

The receipts were public the whole time.

Every claim below comes from a public post. Screenshots are archived here so the whole file reads in one place.

RECEIPT 001

Menlo Park throwback.

“Throwback to this old (circa 2015) conference room at our Menlo Park office. Guess what we named it?”

Vlad posts an old photo from the early Robinhood era. His Shiba is already there, sitting in the middle of the scene.

RECEIPT 002

The famous dog post.

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”

Vlad posts his own dog. This is the receipt that turned a background cameo into the face of the whole story.

RECEIPT 003

The collar tag reads KITSU.

The name on the tag: KITSU

Official Robinhood footage shows the collar close enough to read. That tag is the bridge from “Vlad’s dog” to a ticker.

  • CAPTIONRobinhood’s own social team captioned it “vladdy?”. Not “Vlad”. That is dog dad phrasing.
  • LEASHThe hand holding the leash in frame belongs to Vlad.
  • BEHAVIORThe moment he moves, Kitsu turns, sits and locks in on him. Dogs do that for their owner, not for a coworker.
RECEIPT 004

Still answering with a dog.

“If anyone asks if we’re dog friendly, send them this.”

Asked whether Robinhood is dog friendly, Vlad answers the only way he does. Three years after the last receipt, the motif has not moved an inch.

RECEIPT 005

The same person holding Kitsu.

“Guess who is holding kitsu here in the video on tiktok? Same shirt. Is that vladdy?”

The follow-up isolates another frame from the official Robinhood TikTok: someone in a dark blue long sleeve is holding Kitsu close and calming him down. The claim is that this is not a random office handler, but the same person seen controlling the leash.

RECEIPT 006

Same shirt, same cuff.

“You can tell it is him for sure too because there’s that white bit on the cuff.”

The second frame puts the leash shot beside the shirt detail: navy long sleeve, dark pants, white shoes, and a small white cuff edge. It strengthens the Vlad read, while the broader case still rests on the full stack: KITSU tag, “Vladdy?” caption, leash behavior, and years of Vlad posts with the dog.

IDENTITY SCAN

One small tag.
One huge narrative unlock.

The name is what turns years of scattered posts into one coherent identity: not a random dog in the background, but Vlad Tenev’s dog, with a name. The project does not need invented mythology. The receipts are the mythology.
